Aleksandra Kalisz

               The project "Notions of women" is part of a Doctoral research at University of Porto in Portugal. In this series of paintings I investigate the concept of femininity. The works address the contemporary understanding of the concept and l focus on female figures and the portrayal of the feminine. Furthermore, I take into the consideration a cultural symbolism expressed previously in history of painting that includes objects, animals and flowers traditionally associated with femininity. I want to analyse the relation between women and nature.
